Fibromyalgia
Fibromyalgia is a chronic pain illness characterized by widespread muscular aches, pain and stiffness, soft tissue tenderness, general fatigue and sleep disturbances. The most common sites of pain include the neck, back, shoulders, pelvic girdle and hands. Because of its debilitating nature, fibromyalgia seriously impacts the families, friends and workplaces of sufferers.
Fibromyalgia is characterized by the presence of multiple tender points and a constellation of symptoms. Currently no lab tests are available to diagnose fibromyalgia. Doctors must rely on patient histories, self-reported symptoms, a physical examination and a tender point examination. Because many doctors are still not adequately informed or educated about fibromyalgia, it is estimated that it takes an average of five years for a fibromyalgia sufferer to get an accurate diagnosis.
Treatment for fibromyalgia includes lifestyle adaptation, pain management, sleep management, psychological support and other therapies. Due to the lack of education and understanding of fibromyalgia, many worker’s compensation insurance carriers will deny benefits to injured workers suffering from work-related fibromyalgia.

How do we charge?
Our office will not charge for a consultation. If you decide to hire us, we charge no fee up front. Our attorney fee is set by Indiana law and Indiana law limits our fee to 20% of any recovery up to $50,000.00. For recoveries above $50,000.00, our fee is limited to 15% of any monies recovered above $50,000.00. With limited exceptions, we also will collect our out-of-pocket expenses from the recovery and not from you. If you hire us with an offer already given to you, we will typically agree not to charge an attorney fee unless we recover additional money. For example, if you hire us with an offer already of $5,000.00 and 3 months later we tell you we can only get you $5,000.00, we will typically not charge you. We will discuss this in more detail at the initial meeting and put our agreement in writing.
